If I could give one tip to someone trying to break into the IT industry, it would be: ring Craig.

These are your strengths, these are your weaknesses. He showed me which meetups to go to, which online courses to take, and he introduced me to industry contacts. When I found out I needed to move from Brisbane to Melbourne with about a months notice, an ad on seek caught my attention so much I immediately picked up the phone. I met with Craig only a few months after I arrived in Melbourne, and I straight-away knew that he was not any random recruiter you can find out there. First and foremost because he does not recruit in anything: he mainly specialises in network / security / cloud / systems which has allowed him to really know the industry and its key people.
